by Wallace Irwin (In the Public Domain) The most chivalrous fish in the ocean, to the ladies forbearing and mild Though his record be dark, it's the chivalrous shark Who will eat neither woman nor child Oh he'll dine upon sailor and skippers, and tourists his hunger assuage And a fresh cabin boy will inspire him with joy If he's past the maturity age. A banker, a lawyer, a preacher, he'll gobble one any find day But the ladies — God bless 'em — he'll only address 'em Politely and then go on his way. I can readily cite you an instance of a lovely young lady from Green Who was tender and sweet and delicious to eat Fell into the bay with a scream Oh she flounced and struggled in the water and signaled in vain to her bark Oh she probably have drowned if she hadn't been found By a chivalrous man-eating shark. He bowed in a manner most polished, thus soothing her impulses wild. "Don't be frightened," he said, "I'm properly bred, And will eat neither woman nor child." He offered his fin and she took it. Such gallantry none may dispute. And the passengers cheered as the vessel they neared, A broadside fired in salute. They came along side the vessel, a life-saving dinghy was lowered With the pick of the crew, her relatives, too, The mate and the skipper on board. They brought her on board in a jiffy; the shark stood attentive all the while. Then he raised on his flipper and ate up the skipper And went on his way with a smile. So this shows that this prince of the ocean, to the ladies forbearing and mild. Though his record be dark, it's the chivalrous shark Who will eat neither woman nor child.

By Stephen Foster (In the Public Domain) The camptown ladies sing this song "Doo dah, doo dah." The camptown races five miles long, all the doo-dah day. Go down there with my hat caved in. Doo Dah, doo dah. Come back home with a pocket full of tin, all the doo-dah day. Gonna run all night, gonna run all day. Bet my money on the bob-tail nag, somebody bet on the bay. The long-tailed filly and the big black hoss, Doo dah, doo dah. Fly down the track and they both cut across, all the doo-dah day. Old mule cow come onto the track, Doo dah, doo dah. The bob-tail fling her out over his back, all the doo-dah day. Then fly along like a railroad car, doo dah, doo dah. Running the race, like a shooting star, all the doo-dah day. Gonna run all night, gonna run all day. Bet my money on the bob-tail nag, somebody bet on the bay. [Spoken: Not what I call my problem.] The long-tailed filly and the big black hoss, Doo dah, doo dah. Fly down the track and they both cut across, all the doo-dah day. Old mule cow come onto the track, Doo dah, doo dah. The bob-tail fling her out over his back, all the doo-dah day. See them flying on a ten-mile heat. Doo dah, doo dah. Round the racetrack and then repeat. All the doo-dah day. I put my money on the bob-tail nag. Doo dah, doo dah. I take my money in a old tote bag. All the doo-dah day. Gonna run all night, gonna run all day. Bet my money on the bob-tail nag, somebody bet on the bay. The camptown ladies sing this song "Doo dah, doo dah." The camptown races five miles long, all the doo-dah day. [Spoken: Wouldn't say I was much of a prophet, but I sure was profitable. That's my bus, better catch it.]

What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor? What do you do with a drunken sailor, early in the morning? Put him in a long boat until he's sober. Put him in a long boat until he's sober. Put him in a long boat until he's sober, early in the morning. Oooh-whee and up she rises. Oooh-whee and up she rises. Oooh-whee and up she rises, early in the morning. Put him in the scuppers with a hosepipe on him. Put him in the scuppers with a hosepipe on him. Put him in the scuppers with a hosepipe on him, early in the morning.
